Sedum Dasyphyllum | Corsican Stonecrop | Blue Tears Sedum

Sedum Dasyphyllum, also known as Corsican Stonecrop or Blue Tears Sedum, is a charming and delicate succulent that forms dense mats of tiny, blue-green foliage. With its fine, needle-like leaves and trailing growth habit, this plant creates a soft and serene carpet-like effect, making it a perfect choice for rock gardens, containers, or hanging baskets. Sedum Dasyphyllum is ideal for plant enthusiasts seeking a drought-tolerant and low-maintenance option for adding texture and beauty to their outdoor or indoor spaces.

Plant Care Needs

• ☀: Thrives in full to partial sunlight. Prefers at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. Can tolerate some shade, particularly in hot climates.

• 💦: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Water sparingly, approximately every 1-2 weeks, depending on environmental conditions and soil moisture levels.

• 🪨: Use well-draining, sandy soil mix. Sedum Dasyphyllum prefers soil with excellent drainage to prevent root rot. We recommend Tits & Grit Cacti & Succulent Mix!

• 🌡️: Prefers temperatures between 60°F to 75°F (15°C to 24°C). Tolerates a wide range of temperatures but protect from frost.

• ☁: Adaptable to normal outdoor humidity levels. Does not require additional misting.

• ✂: Propagate Sedum Dasyphyllum through stem or leaf cuttings. Simply cut a healthy stem or leaf and allow it to callus for a few days before planting it in well-draining soil.

• ⚖: Low maintenance. Suitable for both novice and experienced plant enthusiasts.

• 💭:

  • Fertilize sparingly with a balanced fertilizer diluted to half strength once every 2-3 months during the growing season (spring and summer).
  • Prune any overgrown or leggy stems to maintain the plant’s compact and tidy appearance.
  • Avoid overwatering, as Sedum Dasyphyllum is susceptible to root rot. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogged soil.
