Plant Care Needs
• ☀: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Can tolerate some direct sunlight, particularly in the morning or late afternoon, but avoid prolonged exposure to intense sun.
• 💦: Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings (even completely!). Water thoroughly, then let the soil dry completely before watering again. Typically, water every 10-14 days during the growing season, and reduce frequency in winter.
• 🪨: Well-draining soil mix is essential. Use a rich, organic potting mix with good drainage properties. We recommend our cHuNkY mOnKeY Epiphytic Blend!
• 🌡️: Prefers warm temperatures between 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C). Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.
• ☁: Thrives in moderate to high humidity levels. Mist the leaves regularly or use a humidifier to maintain humidity, especially in dry indoor environments.
• ✂: Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Take a cutting with at least one node, allow it to callous over for a few days, then plant it in well-draining soil.
• ⚖: Moderate maintenance. Suitable for indoor gardeners with some experience.
• 💭:
- Provide support for climbing stems if desired, as Hoya Krinkle 8 is a vining plant. Moss poles or a trellis work excellently!
- Fertilize sparingly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Avoid fertilizing in winter.
- Prune leggy or overgrown stems to encourage bushier growth and to maintain the plant’s appearance.
- Keep an eye out for signs of pests such as aphids or mealybugs, and treat promptly if detected.
- Hoya Krinkle 8 may take some time to establish and bloom, so be patient and consistent with its care to encourage flowering.
