Plant Care Needs

• ☀: Flourishes in bright, indirect sunlight. Can tolerate some direct sunlight, particularly in the morning or late afternoon, but avoid prolonged exposure to intense sun.

• 💦: Maintain consistently moist soil, watering when the top inch feels dry. Reduce watering in winter, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

• 🪨: Requires well-draining potting mix to prevent waterlogging. Use a blend of peat moss, perlite, and coarse sand for optimal drainage. We recommend The Mix, Luxuriously Moist, or a combination of both!

• 🌡️: Thrives in temperatures between 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C). Protect from cold drafts and maintain consistent warmth.

• ☁: Prefers moderate to high humidity levels. Mist the foliage regularly or place the plant near a humidifier to maintain moisture levels.

• ✂: Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Take a cutting with at least one node, remove lower leaves, and place in water or moist potting mix until roots develop.

• ⚖: Low to moderate maintenance. Suitable for both novice and experienced gardeners.

• 💭:

  • Prune regularly to maintain the plant’s shape and to encourage bushier growth. Pinch off leggy stems to promote new growth.
  • Clean the leaves periodically with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain their vibrant color.
  • Tradescantia ‘Albovittata’ is toxic if ingested, so keep it out of reach of pets and children.
  • Consider providing support for the trailing stems, such as a trellis or moss poll, to encourage upward growth and prevent tangling.
