Haworthia Fasciata | Zebra Plant

Haworthia Fasciata, also known as Zebra Plant or Zebra Haworthia, is a striking succulent known for its distinctive zebra-like white stripes on dark green leaves. This compact and low-growing plant is perfect for small spaces, windowsills, or terrariums, adding a touch of exotic beauty to any indoor environment.

Plant Care Needs

• ☀: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in the morning or late afternoon, but avoid prolonged exposure to intense sun.

• 💦: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly, typically every 2-3 weeks during the growing season, and reduce frequency in winter.

• 🪨: Well-draining soil mix is essential. Use a cactus or succulent mix amended with perlite or sand to improve drainage. We recommend Tits & Grit Cacti & Succulent Mix!

• 🌡️: Thrives in average to warm temperatures between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). Protect from frost and freezing temperatures.

• ☁: Prefers low to moderate humidity levels. Avoid overly humid conditions to prevent fungal issues.

• ✂: Easily propagated from offsets or leaf cuttings. Allow offsets or leaves to callous over for a few days before planting in well-draining soil.

• ⚖: Low maintenance. Suitable for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.

• 💭:

  • Keep the plant in a container with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
  • Avoid overwatering, as Haworthia Fasciata is susceptible to root rot. Err on the side of underwatering rather than overwatering.
  • Fertilize sparingly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Avoid fertilizing in winter.
  • Haworthia Fasciata is a slow-growing plant and may not require frequent repotting. Repot only when the plant has outgrown its container or the soil has become compacted.
  • Keep an eye out for signs of pests such as aphids or mealybugs, and treat promptly if detected.
